Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. During this season of the Church year people make a special effort to pray, study, fast, and serve their numbers in works of mercy.
Even though Lent is a penitential season, its purpose is to prepare us to celebrate the resurrection. In other words, Lent helps us to appreciate that God is making all things new. Through us. I offer the following brief video in that spirit. Blessings…….
Thank you so much for your Ash Wednesday words of hope! These times are pushing us all so hard. Home is a word some of us struggle with at times.
Let’s just keep walking, Margaret. You are so right about these times and about the struggle so many of us can have with the word home at times. Blessed Lent.
Bishop, these words were both “convicting” in the sense that they pierced the soul and both amazingly hopeful. Thank you for this path-setting guidance for Lent.
Thank you Canon Monroe. Blessed Lent
