We are all connected, whether we acknowledge that or not. I cannot really separate my well-being from yours. What you do affects everyone else. Life is all about relationships. Here’s a brief meditation:
This video refers to a passage from Matthew and a prayer. Here’s the Scripture passage:
“Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” (Matthew 10:40)
And you’ll find the prayer below. Note the emphasis on unity:
Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Stay safe. Be well. Remember that you are loved.
God is with us in every moment of our being. We needn’t ask for God’s presence or abiding love…we need to ask for awareness of this relationship.
Compelling message Jake. I’ve listened x2 as I’m spectacularly lacking in the area you’ve addressed here, relationship and connection. Needs a big heart-transform for a loner but at least I’m headed in the right direction. Thanks for the truths you share, so clearly.
Given the beauty and power of your photos, I wonder if you don’t experience that sense of connection in nature. The last poet Mary Oliver certainly did.
Thank you for you insightful reply Jake, that would certainly be true and the connection with nature helps a lot. I’m working on being more open-hearted, starting with the heart. I now know all change must ‘start from the heart’ – even rhymes, kinda catchy 🙂
